COME FLY WITH ME

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Euci0_BBmNE

What a catchy song sung by Frank Sinatra.

Please click on it before reading on ... the tune will get in your head and set the mood for the rest of this blog ... lol

The notable last words before Jesus ascended were: “GO into all the world and PREACH the Gospel.” I love training people and then leading them on a MINISTRY TEAM to another nation to help them obey the Great Commission.

Do you have a PLAN to go on a TRIP?

Why not PRAY about FLYING WITH ME?

Our projects in Rwanda are expanding - 24 projects now that will and increasing to 30 this year.

Do you think you would like to help? Here are some things that you could do.

· cook food and feed it to orphans and desperate children

· teach children about the Bible and change their life

· OR would you like to ride on the back of a motor bike taxi and deliver a pig or goat to a desperate child or single mother living in a mud hut in Rwanda?

· Would you like to help teach orphan teenagers about how they can have a great future? They need teaching on simple basic life skills, how to make money or to work at a job.

· Train people on how to start a business and qualify for a microloan.

· Or are you a bold Christian and want to give your testimony or preach the gospel in small groups or a large crusade?

· What about hugging some babies who had been thrown away and rescued by the Nairobi Dream Centre?

There are countless things you could do to help on a team with me. Tell me what your talents are and I bet I can fit your gift in and you can help change lives.

Please keep advancing in THE REASON YOU ARE ALIVE, to share Christ at home and to the nations.

ONE OF MY HEROES said this, “My life is worth nothing to me UNLESS I use it to finish the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus--the work of TELLING OTHERS the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” (Acts 20:24)

· Option 1 is to join the HOME OF HOPE DISCOVERY TOUR AND tour Home of Hope projects as you want.

· Option 2 is the more intensive CHRISTIAN MINISTRY TEAM, helping share the Gospel and strengthen people in the Christian faith.

I love spending time with family! One of the things we love doing is going to the MOUNTAINS to ski.  I love to see the mountains - to stare - to be in awe!
Our daughter Joy said she loves the peace, calmness and quietness of the mountains.  Something a mother of 3 young children would say!

On a ski day, I think I annoy my family, because I continually say ... "LOOK AT THOSE MOUNTAINS - HOW BEAUTIFUL! HOW POWERFUL!"

I always think about the Lord when I stand and stare at the mountains in awe. I feel such a strong presence of God when I do.

The Banff - Rocky Mountains

In February 2015 I visited Nepal for the second time and saw the GREAT HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINS.  8/10 of the biggest mountains in the world.  Almost 3 times the size of the Rocky Mountains .. wow!!  I even took a plane ride to go see Mount Everest! Amazing!

Seeing these monster creations of God, makes me think of these scriptures

Psalm 121:1-8
I look up to the Mountains - does my help come from there?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.

The LORD HIMSELF watches over you!  The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.  The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.  The Lord keeps you FROM ALL HARM and watches over your life.
the Lord keep watch over you as you come and go, both now and FOREVER.  Psalm 125:2 As the Mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.

Romans 1:20 Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power.  So they have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgement Day.

BUT -- Canada is still the most beautiful money in the world.

What made me cry in Africa Dec 2014 - Part 3 Kenya

<---Read Part 1 What made me cry - Congo
<---Read Part 2 What made me cry - Rwanda

http://pastorbrianthomson.blogspot.ca/2014/12/what-made-me-cry-in-africa-dec-2014.htmlAs soon as I arrived at the Home of  Hope Dream Centre in Nairobi Kenya, this little boy - Samuel (who had been rescued as a baby), came running to me with his hands out. What a touching moment to have a little person remind me of what we are doing and who we are doing it for. God can sure use children to touch our lives and to keep us focused. (tears of joy as Samuel blessed my life!)

To know many of these babies had been thrown away in the dump, now seeing them healthy and ready to be placed in loving Christian homes was very emotional. I was so impressed with everything I saw with the 2 temporary rented Dream Centres.

We are in the last stages of completing our new Dream Centre and we will soon be able to go to another level of helping abandoned children.

Here we are praying for the last stages of the Dream Centre to be completed.

One team member from Canada arrived at the garbage dump, smelled the terrible smells of the area and saw how gross and vile everything was. When she was shown the specific location where a baby was thrown away ALIVE -- she threw up!

She is a sponsor of one of the precious discarded children. Here is a short clip of Heather from Ponoka, Alberta,  telling how this trip changed her life. http://youtu.be/QC7fZjWvydw

Seeing how God changed her heart was an emotional moment for me. It reminded me of how God changed my heart 8 years ago and how I must stay focused.

How I plan to help:

1. Finish the Dream Centre Building early into the new year.
2. Find more foster families in Kenya and sponsors from Canada and around the world who will  give monthly for the present children to be placed in Christian families in Kenya.
3. Start to rescue 50 more brand new babies and have them stay until they are healthy and ready to be placed with a family. A Great goal for 2015.

What made me cry in Africa Dec 2014 - Part 2 Rwanda

Home of Hope Rwanda has changed my life

<---Read Part 1 What made me cry - Goma, Congo.
God has ways of changing our lives and moving us to the next level of fulfilling our destiny. This Blog is about how my life changed for the better and is still changing.

Eight years ago we started Home of Hope by helping 4 children whose father had just died of HIV AIDS, and mother was on her death bed. (she is still alive!!) My life was changed forever when I got involved.

On my latest trip (#19), we brought together 170 Home of Hope sponsored children from the last 8 years who are now teens - age 14 and older. We taught them for 3 days on how to be a successful person and how to have a solid plan to be self sustaining.

It was a very emotional time for me and overwhelming to see the success that is happening with HOH and to know they all will have a great future!

The first orphan sponsored by Home of Hope, (my) Emmanuel:

How I want to help teenage orphans.

Many of the teenagers will NOT qualify for College or University because they just started school 8 years ago when their sponsorship started. By raising more money for Microloans for teens, they will be able to raise their own money to become self-sufficient, and for some raise money for College or University.

Each Teen can have an animal, like a pig, goat or rabbits, as one way of starting to take responsibility and make some money themselves.

NEXT  ... Microloans have been for singles mothers so far and we have seen great success, but now we want to expand and help Home of Hope Teens qualify for microloans for their future. We want to see teams of 6 or co-ops of 6-10 teenagers that will receive the loan and then pay it back in 6 months and then the loan will be given to the next group and so on FOR YEARS to come. (the best way to help the poor!)

Here is a picture of the training day with Pastor Mel Mullen and myself. 170 of the crowd are HOH teens. YAY!

August is the next Mission team who can help train these teens when they have a school break, then again in December, yearly. http://www.homeofhope.ca/teams
